3 Things Joel Allison is Most Proud of at Baylor Scott & White

This week, we return to the excellent interview featuring Joel Allison, president & CEO of Baylor Scott & White Health. Allison’s extensive career is experiencing a shift as he retires from his current position, and he spends this segment from the interview reflecting on some of the things he is most proud of from his time at Baylor.

When asked to name 3 things he is most proud of about Baylor Scott & White Health, Allison responds without hesitation: “Our people, our mission, and the commitment we have to serving all people.”

Allison continues on with a quote from George Truett:

“Is it not now time to build a great humanitarian hospital, one to which men of all creeds and those of none, can come with equal confidence?”

Allison emphasizes this as the current commitment of Baylor Scott & White Health, and brings up four “non-negotiables” the organization has:

  • Patient first
  • Stay true to your mission
  • Live your values
  • Do the right thing for the right reason

An excellent standard for any individual in any organization!
