Diane Watts: 3 Elements of Persuasive Communication

In this video segment Diane Watts, CEO of Watts Professional Development, shares the key elements of a persuasive conversation.

Watts explains that there are 3 key elements to use in any conversation to be persuasive. Those elements are:

  • LOGIC (appealing to the sense of reason)
  • ETHICS (appealing to the sense of right and wrong)
  • EMOTIONS (appealing to our emotions and feelings)

No one has ever found a fourth… in over 2,500 years! She comments that if you bring two of these elements into a conversation you will be powerful, and if you bring all three of these elements into a conversation you will be extraordinarily powerful! Who doesn’t want that?
