A Career to Love: 3 Healthcare Leaders Reflect on Their Careers

If you could have any position in the world, what would it be? How many of you are content in your current position? In today’s segments, three healthcare leaders answer this question and briefly reflect on their careers thus far.

In the first segment, hospital president Traci Bernard reflects on her work experiences, both positive and negative, commenting:

“I feel like I have had some of the best learning experiences.”

In every opportunity or position Bernard has held, she learned something new, and while she wishes she would have not made a few of the mistakes she made, she also understands that each of these moments made her into the leader she is today, and she wouldn’t change that.

In the next two segments, two leaders from Scripps Health, Mary Ellen Doyle and Marc Reynolds, express how content they are with their current positions in their organization.

Mary Ellen Doyle states, “I can’t think of anything I’d rather do than where I am today,” and Marc Reynolds echoes that statement, explaining how he believes he is in the right place for him and makes a great contribution to the company.

Each of these three leaders holds a different position in the healthcare industry, but all have acknowledged they are exactly where they need to be and enjoy their positions. There is definitely something to be learned from these leaders who are leading careers they love!
