Be An Inspirational Leader

Inspirational leadership truly influences the people it touches—without coercion or false pretenses. AHL founder and CEO Dan Nielsen writes about this in his newly released book, Be An Inspirational Leader: Engage, Inspire, Empower. As he explains in the book, inspirational leadership is the most effective way to lead any organization. Today we look at two interview segments that touch on what it means to be an inspriational leader.

In the first segment featured today, Dan Nielsen begins by asking Eric Barber, president of Mary Lanning Healthcare, “What do you believe is your core competency?” Barber responds that being an inspirational leader is what he believes to be his core competency, explaining that leadership is “inspiring others to get done what you know needs to get done.” He goes on to note, “I am able to get a group to work together toward a common goal.”

Inspirational leadership has the ability to transform organizations, helping individuals and organizations alike achieve greater success.

In the second segment, Mike Williams, who is mentioned and quoted in Chapter 13 of Nielsen’s book, discusses his greatest honor as president and CEO of CHC:

“The greatest honor that I have as being the founding CEO and continuing CEO of CHC is having the privilege of working side by side with these 80-90 individuals who have committed to our mission.”

Williams considers it a true honor to serve, and the success his organization has had is a reflection of his inspirational leadership and the individuals with whom he works.
