Have you thought about the characteristics that will set you up for success? In today’s featured interview segments, Bruce Brandes, founder and CEO of Lucro, and Eric Barber, president and CEO of Mary Lanning Healthcare, discuss a few characteristics necessary for leadership success.
In the first featured segment, Dan Nielsen, founder and CEO of America’s Healthcare Leaders, asks Bruce Brandes to list what he considers to be his top 3 leadership strengths. Brandes responds:
- Having a self-awareness of what he is good at and what he is not.
- Very good at simplifying complex things.
- Recognizes if there is not a third thing, don’t make one up!
These three characteristics have helped Brandes to become the leader he is and have certainly allowed him great success in his career.
In the second segment featured today, Eric Barber lists three critical characteristics for achieving success:
- Passion
- Self-Motivation
- Willingness to Follow Specific Guidelines and Directions
In the third and final segment, Barber goes on to zero in on “Self-Motivation” as the top characteristic needed for promotion within his organization, concluding:
“If they are self motivated and they are passionate about what we are doing, then I can empower them and give them some guidance that doesn’t have to be too strict, because they share a common goal and common vision with the organization.”
