Another summer of vacations and family fun is coming to a close. While traditionally the end of summer might be when a lot of people really buckle down and focus more on work, the truth is that a healthy work-life balance should be a priority year round. Today we are revisiting a couple excellent segments from two senior healthcare leaders who believe in the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
In the first segment, Mike Williams, president & CEO of Community Hospital Corporation, thoughtfully reflects on how his definition of success at home has changed over the years. He explains that as a young healthcare leader he was driven toward external success in the industry, but that drive has shifted over the years.
“The definition that I have for success at home at age 62 is very different than the definition I had when I was first married at age 30.”
In the second segment, Traci Bernard, president of Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southlake, talks about her dedication to a healthy work-life balance and what that looks like for her.
“I’m a firm believer that you have to have balance in your life. If you don’t balance your personal and professional life you create a lot of inconsistencies in both arenas.”
