Renowned author and speaker Brian Tracy once stated, “Successful people are simply those with successful habits.” What a true statement! In today’s segments we hear from two healthcare leaders as they talk about the habits that have helped lead them to greater success: Traci Bernard, president of Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southlake, and Bruce Brandes, founder and CEO of Lucro.
Our habits define our leadership; therefore we must be mindful of our habits and the results they produce. In the first featured video, Traci Bernard talks about the importance of sticking to good morals and values, commenting,
“I want to put my head on the pillow every night, look in the mirror every night, and know that every decision I made I can feel good about, and that I don’t have to question myself.”
In addition to this, Bernard lists off hard work, dedication, loyalty, and acknowledging the importance of the people and talent you surround yourself with as being essential to her leadership.
In the second featured segment, Bruce Brandes discusses the habit of daily employing the “Golden Rule” – treat others how you would like to be treated. Brandes also goes on about the importance of balance in your life. The habit of deliberate scheduling has allowed him to be more effective in the use of his time, leaving time for the things he considers truly important.
