Featured Leader: Traci Bernard

Today we are pleased to introduce Traci Bernard, president of Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Southlake, Texas. A registered nurse, Traci has been in healthcare for more than 25 years and in her current role since 2005.

A graduate of Indiana State University, Traci Bernard began her healthcare career in nursing, and has served a number of healthcare systems across America as her experience and expertise has increased. Prior to joining Texas Health, she served as Vice President of Operations at Baylor Regional Medical Center in Grapevine, Texas for eight years.

Traci loves what she does; with every conversation and interaction she exudes a contagious passion for her work, her organization, and her team. She leads with excellence and inspires excellence throughout her organization. Under her leadership, Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southlake has been named one of the 100 best places to work by Modern Healthcare for 8 years in a row.

To begin the far-reaching, in-depth interview with Traci, AHL founder and CEO Dan Nielsen asked her to talk about her leadership philosophy. Her response was straightforward and sincere:

“It’s pretty simple: just treat people the way you want to be treated. I think people want to work for a leader who has strong morals and high values, and I feel like that attracts good people.”
