Today’s featured segments conclude the interview with Mary Ellen Doyle, Corporate Vice President of Nursing Operations at Scripps Health in San Diego, California. In these three segments Doyle reveals a little more about herself, including the one position she most desires, her favorite hobbies, and why she so strongly believes in having a solid foundation.
In the first segment, when AHL founder and CEO Dan Nielsen poses the question, “If you could have any position in the world, what would it be?” Doyle’s response is immediate, succinct, and absolutely heartfelt:
“I wouldn’t be anywhere but where I am today. I love what I do. I can’t think of anything I’d rather do than where I am today.”
In the next segment, Doyle shares a little bit about what she does for fun outside of work, including one surprising hobby we would have never guessed! Finally, in the last segment from this interview, Doyle emphasizes one more time her firm belief in having a solid foundation to which you can always return:
“Why I think that’s important is under times of stress and where we are now, you have to have something to go back to. If you can have something to go back to, and you’re solid, then everything else is noise around you.”
