In today’s interview segment, Dan Nielsen, Founder & CEO of America’s Healthcare Leaders asks Phil Newbold, (retired) CEO of Beacon Health, to talk about what inspired him regarding innovation and enhancing community health.
Newbold shares that Leland Kaiser suggested to him some thirty years ago that they should consider being a tithing hospital, which they are. In the video Newbold talks more in depth about the tithing and involvement with the community.
He also shares that the organization decided sometime after that that they would invest in research and development, visiting organizations like NIKE, Proctor & Gamble, Microsoft, and others and bringing what those organizations were doing into their own organization and applying it to healthcare.
